Romantic
poets in English Literature
The
year, 1798 to 1830 is officially known as the age of romanticism in English
literature. A new band of poets appeared with new kinds of poetry in theme and
style. Emotion & expression are the bedrock of romanticism without flights
of imaginative sensibility. We may have anything else except romanticism.

Romanticism stands for freedom and liberty and has therefore been designated as
‘liberalism in literature. It stands for freedom from all kinds of the bondage
of rules and regulations of the Neo-classical age of pope.

1. William Wordsworth

along with William Wordsworth, is attributed with founding the Romantic
Movement in England. In 1797, the two companions defied neoclassical elegance with daring creative lyrical compositions

of his poems, was published the following year. As a romantic poet,
Coleridge was a collaborator of Wordsworth & He is also known as a Lake

romantic, Pushkin is considered by many to be the central representative of
romanticism in Russian literature. Russian critics have long thought that his
works reflected a development from neo-classicism

Russian poet and pioneer of modern Russian literature. He was a poet,
playwright, and writer. Pushkin's first poem was published at the age of 15,

is considered one of the most influential works in Russian literature and deals
with the equestrian statue of Peter the Great in Saint Petersburg and

8. Victor Hugo was a romantic who not only wrote about it,
but also lived it. When he went into exile in 1851, he was the embodiment of
the romantic ideal of the martyrs. Hugo's literary character gave him a lot of
authority. Hugo has made a name for himself as a poet, prologue, and article
writer.
Victor Hugo is one of the most famous French
authors of all time. Although he is best known for his epic novel Les Miserables,
his poetry is best known in France. Hugo's first volume of poetry Odes etpoésies diverses was published in 1822 at the age of 20. Then King Louis XVIII granted
him. a royal pension. Four years later, his next volume of poetry, Ode's et Ballades,
established him as a master of lyrical and creative song. Hugo referred to Napoleon III.
Openly as a traitor when he gained all power in 1851.

George Gordon Byron

Due to his lavish lifestyle and multiple love

Byronic hero, an idealized but flawed character capable of enormous passion and
